About Us
Stephen A. Asam, D.D.S.
Dr. Asam has been providing outstanding dental care for his patients since 1990. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College and attended the Medical College of Virginia, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1989. Committed to continuing education, Dr. Asam maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and the Tidewater Dental Association.
He is active in his community, having volunteered his services at the Chesapeake Care Free Clinic as a sitting member of the board of directors, a volunteer treating patients, and as an adjunct professor mentoring fourth-year dental students from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He also volunteers every year with the VDA sponsored Mission of Mercy project, which provides free dental care to thousands of Virginians throughout the state.
During his leisure time, Dr. Asam enjoys gardening and fishing. He and his wife, Sharon, have lived in Chesapeake for the past 28 years and have two beautiful children, Christian and Caroline. And, of course, let's not forget their pug, Dermott.
